"Fuji and the Saint" At one time two of the most perfect cones in the Pacific Ring of Fire. A morning in mid-May of 1980 blasted the comparison into the history books... ************************************************** A piece of Maple burl turned on two centers leaving an overlapping pair of "bowls", the underside textured with a Manpa mini carving bit. The vessel was blackened with India ink then sanded back and colored with a green fiber reactive dye. The lids were turned from Goncalo Alves, cut to accommodate the overlap, textured with an engraving tool, dyed, painted and topped with an eruption of Pink Ivory. Thank you for looking!
