"The Journey Out and In"

A birch sphere. I carved deep contour lines and textured the surface. Then I charred the exterior with a torch. After hollowing drilled 6 holes in the sphere, colored the inside and made metal screens for each opening. I added subtle colors to the exterior with Gilders pasted interference paints. T Lastly it needed a matching stand and a name which came to me as I was writing up the description. Kudos if you can identify the source of the name before going to Google. Thank you for looking!
